Share Holiday Photos with Google Photos

In this episode I’m going to show you how
to take all of your holiday pictures and share those using Google Photos [Music] I’m your host Matt Troutman and welcome to
Genius Lounge, the place where we make technology accessible for mere mortals. So let’s get into the meat of it, first of
all I’m going to show you how to share a group of photos on Google Photos as a shared album. And second of all, I’m going to show you how
to create an automatically updating album that will automatically share those pictures
of a particular person or of a group of people. So I’m going to use an iPhone, however this
will work just as well on your Android or on the web, so just follow the steps and you’ll
be set. So I’m going to go ahead and open up my Google
Photos app. Then I’m going to tap and drag to select some
photos that I’d like. Now all I need to do is tap the share button
in the top row here On Android it’s going to look a little different. It’s going to look like a dot with two other
little dots coming out of it. And from here what I can do is I have the
option of creating a shared album at the bottom, I can create a link, or I can share with specific
people already. At this point I’d like to go ahead and just
create a shared album. And then I’m going to tap “new shared album” It’s creating that right now. And then I’m going to give the album a title. And I’m just going to call this “Roses” And
when I tap done, that all there is to it to creating a shared album, now I actually need
to share it with someone. So I’m going to tap the share button in the
upper-right and I’m going to share it with myself. and I can go ahead and tap send and those
photos are sent. And as soon as I open that shared album on
my other phone, I will get a notification on this phone that those photos have been
viewed by that particular person. And there I see that my face lit up when I
viewed those photos on my other device. So now let’s take a look at how to create
an album that automatically updates whenever you add photos of a particular individual
or group of people. So I’m going to go ahead and tap my sharing
tab here in the lower-right. And I’m going to tap start new share. From here I can add a title And I’m going
to call this Troutman Family. And I can say I want to “Automatically add
photos of people and pets” So it’s asking me which people would I like
to add to this group? I’m going to tell it Truett, me, and my wife
Sarah. And it’s also going to notify me when my photos
added, so I’m going to go ahead and turn that on, it’s going to load those photos. While it’s loading those, I can tab the share
button in the upper-right and then I can go ahead and share that with myself again. And I can tell it send
So now any photos or videos that contain me, my son, or my wife will automatically be shared
with my other account. The really awesome part here is that you can
go ahead and add all of your kids in here and send those to their grandparents so they
automatically get an update whenever you take a new picture. So that’s the quick and easy way of sharing
photos using Google Photos. I hope this video was helpful. If it was please give us a thumbs up down
below. And don’t forget to subscribe to the channel. It’s free and it’s easy, and it helps us let

Troutman, and I’ll see you around the Genius Lounge.
