PORTRAIT of a HERD OF ELEPHANTS. WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY. The Chobe River safari. Botswana.

Hi there. It’s Danielle from Pangolin Photo
Safaris here on the Chobe. As you can see we are with a huge family of elephants
– together – all drinking. We are shooting from the side. So, if we’re shooting from the side like this, look out for symmetry – or patterns. Look out
for trunks together, in a line, or in a diagonal line. Look out for a little one
that might be framed under its mom’s trunk. If you can isolate one, do. But it
makes such a nice group portrait, that I would zoom out, and make sure I get as
many faces in a shot as possible. Make sure that your f-stop is up, so at
roundabout f/14 or f/16. Another tip I can give you, is to focus on the
animal that’s closer to you, rather than the one that’s further away, as you have
more depth-of-field behind the subject that you focus on, than you have in front
of it. Then make sure that your shutter speed is fast enough. If one does
decide to spray water and there are droplets falling down from it’s trunk, remember to
shoot that as well. Include some of the environment, just to see that you
are in The Chobe, and that makes a beautiful environmental family group shot. Welcome to the Chobe! Join us again if
you want another video like this. Click on the subscribe button and the bell
icon to get a notification of our next video. We will see you soon. Bye bye…

Hello everyone. Please can we ask you a favour?
In an attempt to make sure that YouTube is full of decent content there is a threshold that a channel must reach before they give you more exposure. This threshold sits at 1000 subscribers. All we are asking is that you take a moment to subscribe to the channel so that we can reach this milestone sooner.
