How to Affix a Photo to a Passport Application. Whether you are applying for a U.S. passport
in person or seeking to renew an old one by mail, you must submit two recent passport

were asked to staple photographs to the application. This is no longer the case. Step 5. When renewing by mail, place the photos inside
your old passport and mail them along with the rest of your application package to a

    Some information is no longer valid:  only one (1) photo now required (not 2); and photo now SHOULD be stapled (following specific directions on US Govt website)

    Yes now you have to staple using 4 staples in a vertical position. Also the wearing of glasses is now prohibited. The following site outlines what you should do:

    Do NOT follow the advice of this video. It is almost a decade old and the "info" it gives is entirely incorrect. As others have indicated only 1 photo is submitted and it IS required to be stapled.
