Andoer 4K 48MP Handheld Video Camera Camcorder Review

Andoer 4K 48MP Handheld Video Camera Camcorder Review

hey what's up guys Phil here and this is a review for the end over 4k handheld video camera you'll receive the video camera in a carrying case a mini HDMI to HDMI cable an AV to RCA cable mini USB charging cable an instruction manual the camera is small and compact it measures about five and three-quarter inches including the battery by two and a half inches wide and two and a half inches tall it weighs about 12 ounces with the battery installed the camera has a hand pad and strap pre-installed though no lens cap remember to remove the plastic battery saver tab when you first received this camera the battery slides onto the back of the unit and simply clicks into place a full charge will last you a little over 2 hours of continuous recording time on the front of the unit you have the lens with 48 megapixel sensor and below that is the microphone next to the lens are infrared lights for night vision towards the back on top you have to zoom switch photo shutter button and mode key on the back when your thumb sets is where the record button is for video mode on the left hand side is a flip-out LCD monitor the camera turns on automatically when the LCD is opened the screen is fully articulated and can rotate 270 degrees it locks in at every 90 degrees when folded flat with the screen facing out the camera stays on if you close the LCD though with the screen facing in the camera automatically shuts off on the inside panel is the micro SD card slot power button display Wi-Fi button menu button playback mode button and menu navigation genes the screen is also touch sensitive and you can access some of the functions by tapping the icons on the screen entering menu presents the settings for the mode that you're in so in video mode you have selections like loop recording while in photo mode you have different selections like anti-shake and face detection in any mode you can access the general settings by switching tabs the touch screen works well but you have to be really precise where you tap otherwise it's easy to make a wrong selection short pressing the display key toggles on and off the settings icons or can switch the LCD panel off long pressing it brings up Wi-Fi mode so you can connect to a smart phone and use it as a remote screen well at least theoretically actually wasn't able to get the Nova cam app recommended in the manual to work with this camera under the rubber door in the corner is the AV out port mini USB port for charging the battery running off external power or transferring files and the mini HDMI output port on the bottom this flip open door covers a full-size SD card slot and you can use both a micro SD and a full-sized SD card for twice the storage space a memory card is not included with a camera though and it has no internal memory next to the card slot is the battery lock eject key there's also a quarter inch mounting hole on the bottom of the camera for tripod mounting during the day the image quality of the video in photos is clear and detailed the video is faithfully high resolution at 1080p 2k and 4k although at 4k the frame rate is only 24 frames per second so you'll likely see a little more choppiness let's compare the different resolutions this is the 4k at 24 frames per second you this is the 2k at 30 frames per second you this is 1080p at 60 frames per second you and this is 1080p at 30 frames per second you this is an audio test of the and/or 4k camera I'm standing about four feet in front of the camera right now the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog the microphone picks up sounds and voices within a few feet from the camera but it's generally not that loud and I had to bump up the gain in post-processing there also isn't an audio input jack for using an external microphone and finally now I'm about two feet away from the camera the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog the biggest drawback to having a fixed lens is that the focus range is only good after about six feet anything closer than six feet to the lens tends to look a little bit blurry and macro recording is not possible with this camera even with loop recording off the longest video clip is 25 minutes before the camera starts a new file at 4k a one-minute video file of footage takes up about 200 megabytes at 2k a one-minute clip is 150 megabytes and a 1080p it's a hundred megabytes the zoom on this camera is all digital and it goes up to 16 times magnification zooming in and out is generally smooth but the image quality is reduced when you're zoomed in all the way the camera does a decent job with the automatic settings for white balance color balance and ISO these menu options are only accessible in the photo modes though even though they carry over to video mode in video mode you can only adjust the exposure run recording live by tapping the icon on the LCD screen once the anti-shake on the images tend to look a little more clear than without it in dark conditions you'll want to put on the infrared lights this makes the footage black and white but you can see everything in the dark as if looking through night-vision goggles you can quickly toggle on and off this bone using the icon on the screen or by pressing the right navigation button over all the camera captures videos and photos at very high HD resolution the image quality is smooth crisp and detailed this camera doesn't do that great with fast motion though at 4k and it still doesn't quite make 30 frames per second at the highest resolution but otherwise it's a solid handheld camera that will still make for nice quality family videos YouTube productions and b-roll footage I hope you enjoyed this review you can ask me any questions in the comments I'll put a link to the product in the description 1. Does this shoot while charging or simply run off a USB power adapter
    2. When it stops recording after 25 minutes, does it automatically begin the next file or do I have to manually start recording again? Thank you.

the quality of this camera is literal garbage and you could get much better footage with a canon vixia. you may not be able to see the downsides at first because the video is only 720p, however, you can easily see over sharpening artifacts typical of low quality sensors like the tiny one in this. also you can see the blurriness in the grass and sky that indicate that the sensor is not capable of picking up detail nearly as well as it should be able to. basically, take the front facing camera of an iphone 5 and upscale it to 4k, and this is what you get. even for 85 dollars you can get much better value. a vixia for 200 dollars offers optical image stabilization (very useful) optical zoom, better build quality and in general, better video.

Is there a way to improve the sound, so if you are recording a video and it's not very loud, is there a way to bring the sound up in the video?

First time I see a review so clear and detailed, audio and visual. so thank you. However your review seems to good to be true in the light of another video I've seen and especially the commentaries about it of which some are repeated here.
Another things I noticed that you give us comparisons (especially the first two) but you are not filming exactly the same so it's difficult to judge. If I did not see so many negative comments and only your review i would have been tempted – but not anymore.
I hope you're reviewing better products too with the same review quality.

The sound test is also wrong for there is an adjustment for where you are standing. if you wanted louder audio you simply change the one of three settings.

In fairness, 24 k at 24 FPS is not choppy at all you used the 4k camera wrong. even film cameras become choppy if you move to fast. 4k is designed to be still while the actors move. If you need a lot of movement then you would go down to 1080 to move the camera around. Hollywoood uses the highest quality cameras in the world but they are very careful not to move the cameras to fast. thus why they use mutliple shots.

Best review out there, i bought the camera realizing that for this price you won't get true 4k. Now I do have a question. I filmed my family vacation and of course shot it in clips. Is there a way to play it back asone full movie. With out having to push play after every clip?

thank you for review, I will NOT be buying one. Clearly it is cheaply made and will Not last, and the blurrr from low frame rate is terrible.

This is not 4k at all. A real 4k camera from a name brand like sony will set you back $2,000. What a bunch of crap. And every one here thinks this camera can do 4k. You are being scammed.

This camera quality is so bad, it's completely unusable. My $50 phone has better HD quality (maybe 480p, but not FHD, by any stretch!). FHD mode looks interpolated (for a test of quality, point the camera at printed text to see what I mean). Just returned mine. You get what you pay for.

Andoer is not a good company nor it's products. I bought 2 of their HD cameras and both malfunctioned saving recordings even with a hi-end class 10 sd card within 3 months of purchase. They did not respond to emails within the warranty period. Also their warranty period is only 6 months which then they do not honor. I say "Don't Buy Andoer" My experience was very bad!
